ELIZABTEH, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A man was charged after a woman was found fatally stabbed in a New Jersey home earlier this week, authorities announced Friday.
Jose Melo, 52, was charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
At approximately 9:12 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, police responded to a to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Florida Street in Elizabeth.
Upon arrival, officials located Naket Jadix Trinidad Maldonado, 31, who was declared dead at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
