BRICK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Police charged a 35-year-old man with attempted murder for a stabbing at a bike trail entrance in New Jersey, officials announced in a joint press release on Friday.
According to officials, a Brick Township officer was conducting a routine check in the vicinity of Cherry Quay Road at about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday when he discovered the victim.
The officer observed A vehicle with two flat tires was seen in a parking lot area near where the victim was discovered with multiple stab wounds.
The stabbing victim suffered serious injuries. She was taken to an area hospital, where she is listed in critical but stable condition, police said.
Authorities later identified Harry Bray, Jr. of Manchester as the suspect. He was arrested Thursday evening.
Bray was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending court hearing, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
