TOMS RIVER, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 20-year-old man was sentenced to three years in state prison for making a series of bomb threats that resulted in the evacuation of the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk last year, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Nkosi Jones, of Brick Township, had previously pleaded guilty to making terroristic threats in December.
The first incident occurred on June 3, around 1:15 p.m., when Jenkinson's Pavilion Boardwalk Amusements' main office received a bomb threat. The caller said he was going to plant a bomb on the boardwalk.
The call was reported to the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department, and law enforcement evacuated the boardwalk.
After no bomb was found, the boardwalk reopened around three hours later.
The next day, Jenkinson’s employees received another call alluding to a bomb threat, according to the Prosecutor’s Office. The boardwalk was cleared once again, and it reopened several hours later.
An investigation by police and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit found that Jones, who worked at Jenkinson's at the time, allegedly placed both calls through the voice over IP app, TextNow.
He was later arrested when he showed up for work on June 17, according to the Prosecutor's Office.
