LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Officials released the identities of the victims of a murder-suicide incident that occurred in New Jersey over the weekend.
Just after 5 a.m., police responded to an apartment in Little Egg Harbor on Whitemarsh Court after Kimberly Hoffman, 49, reported that someone was breaking in.
Officers forced down the door, and found the woman dead after she had been shot in the face, prosecutors said.
Additionally, police discovered Hoffman's ex-husband Carl Schulz, Jr., 52, in the apartment unconscious, with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where he later died.
The body of a dog, who also appeared to have been killed by gunfire was found.
Schulz is accused of shooting Hoffman and the dog before shooting himself in the head.
Hoffman is survived by two sons.
