NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man stole a parrot valued at $7,000 last week from an exotic parrot shop in New Jersey, according to police.
The robbery happened on Jan. 23 at around 4 p.m. when an unidentified man, wearing a dark-colored Nike hoodie, entered Birds by Joe 2, a store specializing in hand-raised baby parrots, located in Saddle Brook. He asked to see an African Grey parrot, police said.

The clerk packaged the parrot in a display cage to show the customer, but the thief grabbed the cage and quickly ran out of the store.
