NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The body of a man who disappeared after his kayak capsized in a New Jersey lake was recovered a day later on Sunday, according to police.
The victim, a 29-year-old man from Old Bridge, was found around 4 p.m. at Prospertown Lake, Jackson police said.
Rescue efforts began when police received a call around 2 p.m. on Saturday about a capsized kayak on Prospertown Lake and that one of the two friends paddling was missing. Following a nearly two-day search, the body of the missing friend was found unconscious.
The Ocean County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct a post-mortem examination.
The man's identity has not been made public.
