NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey mother was found dead in Tennessee after her 2-year-old son was located safe in the state on Saturday and his father was arrested for allegedly abducting the two of them.

An AMBER Alert had been issued Friday for the boy, Sebastian Rios, after he and his mother, 24-year-old Yasmine Uyar, went missing in New Jersey.

Authorities said they believed the two of them were abducted by the boy’s father, 27-year-old Tyler Rios.

The AMBER Alert was canceled Saturday after the toddler was found unharmed in Monterey, Tennessee, and Tyler Rios was taken into custody.

But Uyar remained missing after the two of them were located. On Sunday, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said Uyar’s body had been found in a wooded area off of I-40 in Tennessee, some 800 miles from her New Jersey home.

Tyler Rios was charged with first-degree kidnapping in connection with the alleged abduction of his son. Prosecutors said additional charges were pending in connection with the death of Uyar.

Rios remained in custody in Tennessee on Sunday pending extradition back to New Jersey.

The AMBER Alert was issued Friday afternoon after Sebastian Rios didn’t show up for daycare and his mother didn’t arrive for scheduled work shifts. A welfare check was conducted on Uyar's home by members of the Rahway Police Department Friday morning, but no one was found inside. That sparked a multi-agency search for the mom and son, including local, state and federal law enforcement.
