NEW JERSEY (WCBS 880) — More details have emerged in Bruce Springsteen's DWI arrest that happened back in November in New Jersey.

The 71-year-old rocker received citations for DWI, reckless driving, and consuming alcohol in a closed area in connection with an incident that occurred on Nov. 14 at National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook.

According to an arrest document, obtained by CBS News, an officer, who was on foot patrol in the park, reported seeing Springsteen take a shot of Patron tequila before getting on his motorcycle and "starting the engine."

The officer said he informed Springsteen that alcohol was prohibited in the area. When Springsteen was asked if he was leaving, the officer said the rocker confirmed that "he was going to drive out of the park."

The document shows Springsteen admitted to doing two shots of tequila in the previous 20 minutes and then refused to take an initial breathalyzer test on the scene.

The officer noted that the 750-ml bottle of tequila was "completely empty."

In the arresting document, the officer wrote that Springsteen "smelt strongly of alcohol," "had glassy eyes" and was "visibly swaying" as he ran the "Born in the U.S.A" singer through standardized field sobriety tests.

The officer noted he observed "four out of six clues on the horizontal gaze nystagmus test" and "five out of eight clues on the walk and turn test."

The officer also said Springsteen took 45 total steps during the walk and turn test instead of 18, as instructed.

Springsteen is set for a court appearance in the next few weeks.

The arrest comes on the heels of his appearance in his first-ever Super Bowl commercial.

Following news of the arrest, Jeep issued a statement saying it "would be inappropriate for us to comment on the details of a matter we have only read about and we cannot substantiate," but added, "it's also right that we pause our Big Game commercial until the actual facts can be established."
