Motorcyclist, 23, killed in NJ hit-and-run, driver sought

NORTH BERGEN, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey police are searching for the the driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 23-year-old motorcyclist on Friday, authorities said.

At about 9 p.m. officials received a call of an unattended motorcycle lying in the road in the area of Granton and Liberty avenues in North Bergen.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Joshua Huayamave several blocks from the vehicle in the vicinity of 76th Street, police said.

EMS transported Huayamave to Palisades Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle that struck Huayamave drove off, authorities said.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the North Bergen Police Department.
