NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Former New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang has reportedly picked the name, "The Forward Party," for his new political party set to be launched next month.
Insider reports the entrepreneur and previous 2020 Presidential Democratic candidate reveals the new party title in the final chapter of his highly anticipated book, "Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy."

Yang's title was previously kept under wraps, though the party's official debut is set to be in conjunction with his Oct. 5 book release.
In Yang's book, obtained by Insider, he describes six "key principles" that motivate the messaging behind his new party, including "fact-based governance," "ranked-choice voting and open primaries," "grace and tolerance" and "human-centered capitalism."
Yang also reportedly includes "universal basic income" as a party principle — his signature policy during the 2020 Democratic race and 2021 NYC Mayoral race.
"We are witnessing a cascade of crises, from a pandemic to a punitive economy to police brutality to the selling of our attention and digital data to the highest bidders. Our democratic institutions are faltering right and left, and our systems are not designed for speed or significant change," Yang writes in the book's introduction. "Trust is fading ... Our political system is a fixed duopoly that will want to move slowly, if at all."
