Queens motorcyclist, 28, dies after crashing into wall and landing in residential yard

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 28-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing into a wall in Queens early Tuesday, authorities said.

The biker, Thomas Hardy of St. Albans, was allegedly speeding on his motorcycle down Utopia Parkway near Jewel Ave. when he hit a brick wall surrounding a nearby residence, an investigation revealed.

Hardy was ejected from the motorcycle after hitting the wall and landed in the yard of the Jewel Ave. residence, according to officials.

Responding officers found Hardy unconscious and unresponsive, lying on the ground with head and body trauma. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital- Queens by EMS workers where he was pronounced dead.

There were no other vehicles involved and the investigation remains ongoing.
