Heliot Ramos is on the board with the Yankees, recording his first hit in pinstripes in what was his second game.

The hit itself wasn't the most eventful, but his trip to second base to complete a double had some unexpected obstacles.

Leading off the bottom of the second, Ramos fought off an inside sinker and muscled a soft line drive down the right field line. Hustling around first, Ramos lost a shoe on his way to second, having to complete his trek from first to second with one shoe. Ramos made it safely without incident, sliding headfirst into second for a double.

Ramos was stranded despite the leadoff double (a theme Yankee fans should be very familiar with at this point), but his first hit was ironically off a righty in Pallante, despite Ramos being acquired at the trade deadline because of his success against left-handed pitching.

Ramos stumbled slightly when the shoe slipped off his foot, but he impressively regained his footing quickly and resumed his spring to second base. It was one of the only moments where the Yankees were able to crack a smile, as their lifeless offense continued to struggle in a 3-1 loss, dropping the Bombers 4.5 games back of the first-place Rays.
