New Rochelle boy, 16, alleged shooter in killing of 17-year-old: police

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (1010 WINS) — A 16-year-old New Rochelle resident was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly shooting a 17-year-old boy who later died as a result, police said.

Officers arrived at the corner of 4th Street and Washington Avenue at 3:38 p.m. where they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The officers administered CPR and the victim was then transported to a hospital where he received emergency surgery but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The 16-year-old suspect was located by New Rochelle Detectives near Glen Place and Beechwood Avenue where he was found with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun.

Due to their ages, the names of the victim and suspect are being withheld.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is being asked to contact the New Rochelle Police Department at ​​914-654-2300.
