NJ man charged with kidnapping after cops saw victim 'dragged' behind building: police

HACKENSACK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey man has been charged after he was caught dragging a person down a driveway and behind a building, police said Tuesday.

Omer Alvarado was charged with kidnapping and simple assault after officers heard "yelling" from behind a door and saw the victim being dragged in the area of Hudson Street in Hackensack around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

"Investigation revealed that Alvarado assaulted the victim (who was known to him) and was dragging the victim back into a home," police said in their release.

The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

Alvarado was held at the Bergen County Jail pending a court hearing, police said.
