NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The Amityville Horror house isn't the only spooky location drawing curious visitors in the tri-state area this Halloween.

A new Netflix series, based off a true story, is attracting crowds to the New Jersey home at the center of the show.

“The Watcher” is a dramatization of the Broaddus family’s strange story. In 2014, the Broadduses (called the Brannocks in the show) purchased their dream home in Westfield, New Jersey. Soon after, they started receiving creepy letters from the 'Watcher' who promised to keep an eye on the house and its residents.

Curious people are coming from all over, including other states, to drive by the house made famous by the show, including a nurse, Keisha, who told 1010 WINS she just finished the show two days ago.

"I really wanted to see how the house really looks in real life and it doesn't really look like the house [in the show]," she said. " And just to know that it's probably haunted is the most fascinating thing about it. It doesn't seem haunted."

The influx of visitors to the actual home is getting some neighbors annoyed, including one man, who knows the family from the series. He told 1010 WINS he’d like people to be to be respectful.

“I think this more important things to life to do than to hassle people,” he said.

The home is currently surrounded by police tape, barricades and 'no trespassing' signs. The block is not too happy about the media being there either.
