According to North Bergen police, on Nov. 3, 2021, a 33-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man she had met earlier in the day.

Following an investigation by the Special Victims Unit, officials discovered that Vivar sexually assaulted the woman and also stole money from her wallet, Mota added.

A witness was then allegedly instructed by Vivar to provide detectives investigating the case with a false report.

Vivar is facing two counts of aggravated sexual assault, robbery, and witness tampering.

He was processed and placed at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
