HACKENSACK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 26-year-old man was arrested on Thursday after ramming a police vehicle multiple times with his car while the officer was responding to an emergency, according to Hackensack police.

The officer was attempting to pass Yves Davilmar Jr. in Hackensack with lights and sirens, but the man refused to let him by, officials said.

The officer reportedly signaled to the black Ford Explorer to let him pass, but the driver wouldn’t budge.

After repeatedly signaling, Davilmar eventually relented, but he followed the police officer after the cop car passed.

Davilmar allegedly ran into the back of the officer’s car and proceeded to back up to repeatedly ram the police vehicle.

The officer exited his car and arrested the driver. The cop suffered a minor injury.

Davilmar was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal mischief and related charges.

He was detained at Bergen County Jail pending arraignment.
