NEWARK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – A New Jersey man was sentenced to prison on Thursday for asking underaged victims to send explicit images and videos of themselves, prosecutors said.

Erick Solis, 25, from July 2020 to February 2021, used a social media app to engage two 15-year-old girls in sexually explicit conversations, according to court documents. He then asked the minor victims to take sexually explicit photographs and videos of themselves and send them to him.

At least on one occasion, one of the victims complied, according to court documents.

Solis had pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of solicitation of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger.

Solis was sentenced to 70 months in prison for soliciting victims online to send images and videos of child sexual abuse and possessing child pornography, Sellinger announced.

In addition to the prison term, he was sentenced to five years of supervised release.
