HACKENSACK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A former massage therapist has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a client at a spa in New Jersey, prosecutors say.

Jhon Cabrera, 28, of Paterson, was arrested and charged with sexual assault on Tuesday, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said in a press release Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Cabrera was massaging a female client at a spa in Hackensack on April 22 when he "engaged in sexual misconduct."

The client reported the incident to police, who launched an investigation and charged Cabrera with criminal sexual contact, prosecutors said.

Bergen County Prosecutor's Office detectives who launched their own probe learned that Cabrera was previously accused of sexually assaulting a client while he was working as a masseuse at a spa in Emerson, New Jersey, the prosecutor's office said.

Tuesday's charges were filed in connection with the alleged incident at the Emerson spa, prosecutors said.

Cabrera is being held at the Bergen County jail, according to the prosecutor's office. His attorney information wasn't immediately available Wednesday.
