ASBURY PARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A man has been charged after he lured and kidnapped an 11-year-old girl from a New Jersey street and told her to take off her clothes, authorities said Monday.

The victim was walking on Ridge Avenue in Asbury Park around 5:30 p.m. on May 30 when Raquan Folk, 29, pulled up to her in a white Kia and convinced her to get inside, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.

Authorities said that when Folk drove her to Neptune Township and told her to undress, the 11-year-old said she needed to use the bathroom.

Folk stopped the car at a gas station, and the girl fled to flag down a passing driver, the prosecutor's office said. She was then taken to the Neptune Township Police Department.

Folk was arrested two days later and charged with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree luring a child and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child via sexual conduct.

He is being held at the Monmouth County jail pending a detention hearing.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call the prosecutor's office Det. Kayla Santiago at 800-533-7443.
