NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey man was arrested Thursday after he instructed children to expose themselves online for payment and then took screenshots of the victims, authorities said.

Edward A. Torres, 23, not only obtained child pornography from the internet, but he also had live, one-on-one chats with the children, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

"Torres instructed children to expose their naked intimate body parts in exchange for payment and took screenshots of the encounters," Musella said in a statement.

He also allegedly told the children to send him sexually explicit images and videos of themselves, the prosecutor said.

"Upon the arrival of law enforcement during the execution of the search warrant, Torres hindered his own apprehension by concealing and attempting to destroy evidence," Musella said.

Torres was charged with first-degree production of child pornography, second-degree distribution of child pornography, and third-degree possession of child pornography. He was also charged with endangering, debauching the morals of a child and hindering apprehension, all third-degree crimes.

Torres was held in the Bergen County Jail on Friday pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.
