TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey reported more than 100 COVID-19-related deaths for the first time since the beginning of June on Tuesday, Gov. Phil Murphy said.

The Garden State recorded 104 new COVID-19-related fatalities on Monday, pushing its death toll to 16,418, Murphy said at a news briefing Tuesday morning.

The state also reported 4,686 new positive COVID-19 test results, bringing its cumulative case total to 440,366, he said.

"Today is not a good day: 4,686 positives," he said. "[And] the first triple-digit day of fatalities that we're confirming since June 3. One hundred and four losses of life."

"Keep all of them in your prayers," he added.

As of Monday, 3,735 New Jerseyans were hospitalized with confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases, 740 of whom were in intensive care and 492 of whom were on ventilators, the state's COVID-19 tracker shows.
