CLIFTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A public school custodian in New Jersey was arrested and charged for distribution, maintenance, and possession of child pornography, Passaic County prosecutors said Friday.
According to Department of Internet Crimes Against Children Unit detectives, recovered 133 images and videos of child sex abuse obtained on the internet from 30-year-old Christopher M. Lucas, a custodian in the North Caldwell Public School System.
Lucas on Friday was charged with four counts, including distribution of child pornography, maintaining child pornography in a file sharing program and two counts of child pornography and could face 10 years for each count and parole supervision for life if convicted.
The North Caldwell Board of Education wrote in a statement Lucas, who had been working in North Caldwell schools since last September had been terminated.
Superintendent Dr. Linda Freda said that there was no evidence that any students were involved with Lucas.
