NJ woman, 19, charged for killing her newborn, desecrating remains

JAMESBURG, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A 19-year-old woman was charged on Wednesday for killing her newborn baby the same night she gave birth, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced on Friday.

Police were called to check on Jessica Farag at her Jamesburg home around 10:15 p.m. where they found the baby unresponsive.

Emergency responders rushed Farag and the infant to a local hospital where the baby was pronounced dead.

Police later took Farag to Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.

She faces charges of aggravated manslaughter, desecration of human remains and endangering the welfare of a child

Officials didn’t specify how the infant died.
