TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- New Jersey reported 108 new COVID-19-related fatalities on Tuesday, bringing its confirmed death toll close to 18,000, Gov. Phil Murphy said.
As of Monday night, 17,980 New Jerseyans had died of complications related to the virus, Murphy said on Twitter.
The state is also investigating 2,059 probable COVID-19 deaths, he said. If those fatalities are confirmed as virus-related fatalities, the state's death toll will have topped 20,000.
New Jersey's hospitals were treating 3,703 COVID-19 patients as of Monday night, up from 3,653 on Sunday night, the state's COVID-19 tracker shows.
Of the 3,703 patients, 658 were in intensive care and 440 were on ventilators.
