HIGHLAND, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A woman was arrested for letting her 10-year-old son get a tattoo, police reported Friday.

Crystal Thomas, 33, let her son get his name tattooed in block letters in Highland near Poughkeepsie, authorities told the Daily Mail.
It’s illegal in New York to tattoo anyone under 18 years old — even with permission from a parent.
The boy’s school reported the tattoo to the police after he asked the school nurse for vaseline for the fresh ink.
Child Protective services removed the boy and another child from Thomas and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police are now searching for the person who gave the boy the tattoo. Police told the Mail it was not a professional job.
