NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- First lady Jill Biden will travel to Connecticut on Thursday to meet with U.S. Navy families, the White House announced.

She will be joined by Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro.

The pair will travel to Groton, where they will visit with U.S. Navy families of the USS Delaware, the submarine of which the first lady serves as the sponsor.

Biden and Del Toro will arrive at Groton–New London Airport in the late afternoon.

The pair will then attend a holiday gathering at the U.S. Submarine Veterans Club in Groton hosted by United Through Reading, a non-profit that unites "military families facing physical separation by facilitating the bonding experience of reading aloud."
