NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Donald Trump may not “even be healthy enough to run” for president in 2024, former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman said amid a new report that the ex-president is “constantly” telling people close to him, “I’m running.”

“I think, going into 2024, I'm really more concerned about the fact Donald Trump hasn't come forward and talked about his health,” Manigault Newman told Rev. Al Sharpton on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation” Sunday.

“I don’t know if he’ll even be healthy enough in 2024, and I think he needs to come clean to the American people about where he is on that before deciding to get into a very stressful and strenuous race for the White House,” she said.

The 75-year-old Trump's health habits came under scrutiny while he was president, particularly his reported affinity for fast food and Diet Coke. Last June, a memo from then–White House physician Sean Conley showed Trump as obese, though Conley said that “data indicates the president remains healthy.”

The Washington Post reported Monday that Trump plans to run in 2024 and even considered announcing the bid during the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan this summer before advisers convinced him not to, noting that Democrats could use his candidacy against the GOP during the 2022 midterm elections.

Trump has been “constantly” telling people close to him that “I’m running,” according to the Post report, which cited several sources.

When asked last month if he’d be a presidential candidate in 2024, Trump told reporters, “I think you are going to be happy. Let me put it that way.” He also addressed his health last month, telling Real America’s Voice News that only a “bad call from a doctor” would stop him from seeking a second term in the White House.

As he continues to hint at a 2024 run, Trump has a rally planned for Saturday in Iowa.
