NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Vice President Mike Pence will likely not attend the Senate’s confirmation on Monday night of Supreme Court judge nominee Amy Coney Barrett.

"Vice President Pence is campaigning in Minnesota today," an aide told Politico. "The VP is not planning to be at the Senate tonight unless his vote is needed."

He won't be needed to preside over the confirmation unless several GOP senators are absent -- which is unlikely to happen -- and Pence would be needed to be a tie-breaker. Fifty-two senators are expected to vote in favor of Barrett, which is enough to confirm her.

Last week a handful of Pence's top aides, including his chief of staff tested positive for coronavirus. Pence's office said the vice president has tested negative for the virus.
