MIDDLESEX, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Police were using boats Tuesday as the search for an alligator at a New Jersey park continued, authorities said.
Officials made attempts to capture and remove the alligator after it was first reportedly seen on Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the Ambrose Brook in Victor Crowell Park in Middlesex.
Police closed Victor Crowell Park on Monday following an increase in visitors looking to spot the alligator.
The alligator is believed to be three to four feet in length.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Conservation Police is currently working to capture and relocate the alligator.
