ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Human skeletal remains were discovered in an abandoned encampment in a wooded area on Long Island on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

At 1:45 p.m., the Rockville Centre Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting possible human remains in the woods southwest of Peninsula Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue, a Nassau County Police Department release said.
