MELVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Suffolk County Police arrested two men for participating in an unauthorized fight club contest at a Long Island park Sunday afternoon.
At about 4:30 p.m., officials responded to community complaints of a fight club advertised on social media at Walt Whitman Park, located at 2559 New York Ave. in Melville, where there were approximately 70 people in attendance.
Officers arrested two participants - Finley McCloskey, 19, and Jake Zimilies, 19 - both Northport residents.
McCloskey and Zimilies were each charged with unlawful assembly and issued desk appearance tickets.
They are scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
