3 women arrested for stabbing man in carjacking at LI gas station

VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Officials arrested two women and a female juvenile for stabbing a man in a carjacking at a Long Island gas station earlier this week, authorities said.

According to detectives, at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, a 37-year-old man was sitting in his 2017 white Kia Sportage at a Shell Gas Station located at 100 West Merrick Rd. in Valley Stream, when he was approached by three females who demanded that he get out of his vehicle.


When the victim refused, a struggle ensued and the victim suffered a stab wound to the middle part of his back.

All three suspects entered the victim's vehicle and fled eastbound on West Merrick Road, officials said.

While canvassing, officers observed the vehicle traveling northbound on Franklin Avenue, activated their emergency lights and conducted an investigation in the parking lot of 355 Franklin Ave., police said

One of the passengers exited the vehicle and began walking eastbound on Polk Avenue while the second passenger Laychelle Robinson, 20, of Brooklyn and the drive Arianna Smith, 19, of Harlem, stayed in the vehicle.

The women were placed into custody without further incident.

Soon after, officers observed a female matching the description of the female juvenile near the intersection of Lincoln Street and Van Buren Avenue and was placed into custody without further incident.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.

All three women are facing charges including robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon. They were arraigned on Wednesday.
