NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Three men were arrested for the murder of a man who was found strangled on the side of the road on Long Island last month, Suffolk County police announced on Monday.

Police started a homicide investigation after Juan Carlos Diaz Geronimo, 48, was found unconscious on Garity Place in East Farmingdale on June 22 at around 1:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives determined that Diaz Geronimo, of North Amityville, was strangled.

Following the investigation, a month later, police arrested Gustavo Hernandez, 38, Walter Ramirez-Jeronimo, 19, and Wilson Ramirez-Jeronimo, 18. All three were charged with second-degree murder.

The victim's connection to the three men, if any, wasn't immediately clear, nor were the circumstances surrounding his death.

They will be arraigned in Central Islip later Monday.
