3 killed in Orange County house fire: officials

MONROE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Three people were killed in an overnight house fire in Orange County, authorities said Thursday.

The blaze broke out just before 1 a.m. at the home located on 44 Highland Ave. in Monroe, according to fire officials.

The house became fully engulfed in flames and due to heavy fire conditions, first responders were not able to attempt any rescues.

Upon arrival, firefighters immediately began extinguishing the fire and tried to save anyone inside the residence.

When the flames were put out, officials found three people dead inside.

Authorities haven’t yet released the identities of the victims.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
