Third person charged in fatal shooting death of Bronx teacher

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A third person was charged in the April shooting death of a Bronx elementary school teacher that happened on Long Island, officials announced Tuesday.

Milton Allen, 20, was charged with second-degree murder on Monday in the death of Kimberly Midgette, 44, who was shot in her car while her 10-year-old daughter was sitting the back in Hempstead at about 1:30 a.m. on April 1.

Another woman, also a teacher, was riding in the front seat and was injured in the shooting.

Oumar Barry, 27, and a 16-year-old were arrested on Nov. 2, authorities said.

Barry pleaded not guilty on a second-degree murder charge.

Allen will be arraigned Tuesday.
