
BELLMORE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Officials launched an investigation after burglars took sledge hammers to glass cases at a Long Island jewelry shop Thursday afternoon.
According to detectives, the burglars entered Philip Joseph Jewelers at at 12:50 p.m. located at 2776 Sunrise Highway in Bellmore.
The suspects began smashing the glass display cases with sledge hammers and stealing assorted jewelry.
The suspects then fled scene in an unknown direction.
The investigation is ongoing.
