NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Curtis Sliwa has launched a new political action committee with the goal of ousting longtime Sen. Chuck Schumer from power.

Despite losing his longshot bid for New York City mayor last month to Eric Adams, Sliwa told the New York Post Sunday that there may be a “Republican wave” coming during the 2022 midterm elections and that even Schumer, a four-term senator who is the Senate majority leader, could be at risk of defeat.
The new website for Sliwa’s “Save the Senate” super PAC reads in big, bold letters, “Stop Schumer Now.” It’s focused on raising money to support Schumer’s GOP opponent next year.
A mission statement from Sliwa on the site says in part, “Though we came up short in our mayoral campaign, my movement for change progresses onward. I am more committed than ever to advancing our Republican values and priorities and holding liberal elitists accountable for failing New York and America.”
“Next up: Senator Chuck Schumer. After serving in government for nearly 50 years, Chuck Schumer has proved to be an incompetent, power hungry career politician,” Sliwa continues. “As Senator, Schumer has delivered nothing more than Sunday press conferences with empty promises. Between the rising cost of living, a broken healthcare system, struggling public schools, and lack of affordable housing, it is clear that Senator Schumer’s primary concern is keeping himself and his cronies in power.”
Schumer has represented New York state in the Senate since beating former Sen. Al D'Amato, a Republican, in 1998.
Sliwa told the Post that he wouldn’t rule out running against Schumer himself if necessary.
