NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Suffolk County Police detectives arrested a man for stabbing his mother to death inside their Brentwood home on Tuesday.
Jason S. Kurumoglu, 30, was charged with murder, authorities announced Wednesday.
At 5:26 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call at a West White Street residence where Meleda Velasquez was found with stab wounds.
Authorities say Velasquez was stabbed to death inside the home, which is located in front of an elementary school.
Detectives were seen removing boxes of evidence from the scene.
Kurumoglu is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Sept. 11.
