Driver who seriously injured teen bicyclist in LI hit-and-run sought

SELDEN, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County officials are looking to identify the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of a crash that seriously injured a bicyclist on Long Island earlier this month, authorities said.

Just before 10 p.m. on January 4, Isaac Ramirez was riding an electric bicycle southbound on Dare Road, near 13th Street in Selden, when he was struck by a vehicle, officials said.

The driver fled the scene in the vehicle, which detectives have determined to be a silver or gray Toyota Camry, possibly year 2021 or newer.

Ramirez remains hospitalized, according to detectives.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
