Girl, 17, arrested after kicking officer in the groin during disturbance at LI restaurant

LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Authorities arrested a teen girl for assaulting a police officer who responded to a disturbance at a Long Island restaurant late Sunday night.

At about 11:21 p.m. officers responded to Escorza's Mexican Restaurant located at 2715 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown for a disturbance caused by a 17-year-old suspect who was pushing employees of the restaurant, police said.


During the investigation, the teen kicked a police officer in the groin causing substantial pain, detectives said.

The teen was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree.

She will be arraigned on Monday in the youth part of First District Court in Hempstead.
