NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Hillary Clinton will be one of the 29 electors representing New York state voters in the Electoral College this year.

The 2016 Democratic presidential candidate shared the news in a SiriusXM interview posted online on Tuesday.

“I’m an elector for New York. So I’m pretty sure [I’ll get] to vote for Joe and Kamala in New York, so that’s pretty exciting,” she said. “I can’t wait.”

While Clinton is serving as an elector, she has spoken out against the Electoral College itself for years, saying in a 2017 interview that it “needs to be eliminated.”

“I’d like to see us move beyond it, yes,” she told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Clinton also said the institution should be abolished after former Vice President Al Gore lost the 2000 election, despite winning the popular vote.

“I believe strongly that in a democracy, we should respect the will of the people, and to me, that means it’s time to do away with the Electoral College and move to the popular election of our president,” she said, according to CNN.
