BETHPAGE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police charged a man accused of breaking a man's car window then injuring a cop during his arrest on Long Island Sunday night.
According to Detectives, at 8:06 p.m., officers responded to 35 Normandy Drive in Bethpage for two men involved in a verbal altercation.
After the argument, Shareef Fiorentino, 25, approached the 52-year-old man's car and broke the rear window, authorities said.
Fiorentino was violent and combative while resisting arrest, causing an officer to sustain injuries during the course of the arrest.
The officer was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
Fiorentino is charged with assault, criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest.
He will be arraigned on Monday, Nov. 13.
