SHIRLEY, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 32-year-old man was indicted in the death of his girlfriend, who was beaten and dragged in public for 25 minutes on Long Island, the Suffolk D.A. announced Thursday.
Oscar Morocho-Morocho, 32, was indicted for manslaughter after he allegedly beat his girlfriend, 34-year-old Ruth Para-Martinez, to death on the evening of May 7, officials said.
According to the investigation, Morocho-Morocho allegedly became angry with his girlfriend, Para-Martinez, and began to publicly and violently beat her outside 30 The Green, a bowling alley and bar in a commercial area of Shirley.
Surveillance video from a local business allegedly captured Morocho-
Morocho punching, kicking, and dragging Para-Martinez for about 25 minutes before he fled the area, leaving Para-Martinez behind.
At 6 a.m. the following morning, Suffolk County Police found Para-Martinez dead in the same location where she was beaten.
“No one deserves to suffer a violent death such as the one endured by the victim. The sheer brutality this defendant allegedly showed is unconscionable,” D.A. Raymond Tierney said.
