NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Nassau County officials arrested a man after he threw his wife onto a table in front of a child, and injured two cops on Sunday night on Long Island.

According to detectives, at 9:10 p.m. officers responded to a 3rd Street residence in New Cassel for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman who informed them that she had gotten into a verbal argument with her husband, Joel Campbell, 35.

The verbal argument escalated and the woman was thrown on a table. She got up and Campbell pulled her hair, threw her to the ground and placed his hands around her neck while she was on the ground, authorities said.

The woman refused medical attention.

A 10-year-old child was also present for the attack, but was not injured, cops said.

According to police, Campbell became violent and combative while resisting arrest and two officers sustained injuries.
