
OCEANSIDE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Nassau County police arrested a poll worker accused of threatening a voter at a Long Island polling site on Election Day, authorities said.
Just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, officers responded to an Oceanside Polling Station located at Oaks Elementary School located at 2852 Fortesque Ave. in Oceanside for a dispute.
Upon arrival, officials were informed that the Mark Sebesta, 54, who was a polling worker, was involved in a verbal argument and threatened a 25-year-old man.
Officers attempted to diffuse the situation when Sebesta, who falsely identified himself as a law enforcement agent, became aggressive, police said.
After a brief struggle, officers were able to place Sebesta into custody.
Sebesta was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The victim was not injured and voting operations were not disrupted, police said.
Sebesta was charged with menacing, harassment, obstructing governmental administration and criminal impersonation.
He will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
