INWOOD, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Officials are investigating after a group of suspects sprayed an employee at a Long Island smoke shop with an irritant during a robbery on Wednesday, authorities said.
According to detectives, four unknown suspects entered the Fazieah Smoke Shop located at 2 Sheridan Blvd. in Inwood, just before 6 p.m., and approached the 22-year-old clerk and began asking questions about certain products.
As the clerk turned back toward the front, two female suspects sprayed him in the face with an unknown liquid that caused severe pain and burning, officials said.
The group stole 25 Air Bar vape pens worth $250 and then fled to E. Carvel Place and into Inwood Park, cops said.
Police said the suspects are three women in their mid-20s and a boy who's about 15 years old.
