NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man accused of fatally shooting his manager and injuring two other employees at a Long Island Stop & Shop earlier this year has been indicted on murder, attempted murder, assault and weapons charges.

The Nassau County District Attorney's Office said 31-year-old Gabriel DeWitt Wilson, of Hempstead, has been remanded and is due back in court next month.

If convicted of the top charge, he faces 25 years to life in prison.

Wilson, an employee at the grocery store located on Cherry Valley Avenue in West Hempstead, allegedly opened fire in a second floor manager's office on the morning of April 20.

One victim was shot in the shoulder. A second victim was shot twice in the shoulder and was also grazed in the face by a bullet.

Wilson then allegedly walked into another office, where prosecutors said he fired several rounds, fatally striking 49-year-old Raymond Wishropp in the chest.

Wishropp was pronounced dead at the scene. Bullets narrowly missed two others in the office.

Wilson escaped, setting off an hourslong manhunt. He was later arrested in a Hempstead apartment building.

Police described Wilson as a "troubled employee."

"In the months previous to this incident he was having unwanted advances towards females that worked there, he was having disputes with other workers and threatening them and was brought into the management offices several times," Nassau County Police Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said.
