NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Long Island man was arrested on Monday for allegedly shouting racial insults at a Hispanic woman earlier this month, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The woman was walking her dog outside an apartment complex in Holbrook on Oct. 1 and at around 9:50 a.m., when the suspect, Mario Corvasce, allegedly shouted racial insults at her.
As the victim tried to walk away, Corvasce allegedly followed her, raising his fist toward her in a physically threatening manner, police said.
Following an investigation by Hate Crimes Unit detectives, Corvasce, 64, was charged with aggravated harassment.
He was issued a desk appearance ticket and will be arraigned at a later date.
