NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Famed Brooklyn-native filmmaker Spike Lee will reportedly host a fundraiser for Attorney General Letitia James at his Martha's Vineyard home next week.
Fresh off her high-profile role leading the independent investigation into Gov. Andrew Cuomo's alleged sexual misconduct, Lee's home will reportedly serve as the setting to raise money on her re-election Tuesday — The New York Post reports.
The Olympic-themed event will reportedly honor a $20,000 donor or fundraiser as a “gold host,” a $10,000 one as a "silver host" and a $5,000 supporter as a "bronze host."
However, the Post reports it is not clear yet whether James is definitive in seeking another term as New York's top legal officer as some speculate she may intend to run for governor in 2022.
While soon-to-be Gov. Kathy Hochul said Thursday she intends to run for a full term next year, other Democrats like New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and more could be weighing a run as well.
Hochul is expected to host an in-person fundraiser next week, days before she is set to become governor.
Lee, the Oscar-winning writer of "BlacKkKlansman," is no stranger to headlining fundraisers with previous honorees including Vice President Kamala Harris and President Barack Obama.
